It's only a mountain,
one of many you can see
on this French country morning
but for one hundred seventy-one young men
it would be a place
where they would dare
to ask themselves
the questions
of greatness

That is probably why Richard Virenque has been told
to go out early on the attack.
Well, he's the carrot for the rest to follow.
We climb up again toward the skyline here
and Virenque is stepping out
the message.
